Why Okie Almanac Exists

Okie Almanac is your go-to guide for growing, cooking, and living in tune with the seasons in Oklahoma. Whether you’re a backyard gardener, a home cook, or just someone who loves local traditions, we bring you practical advice, stories, and seasonal insights to help you connect with your food and community

What inspired this project?

Born out of a love for Oklahoma’s rich food traditions and deep-rooted farming culture, Okie Almanac was created to help people reconnect with seasonal living. The Owner...

I’m Lance Gill, the creator of Okie Almanac. As someone who has spent years passionate about food, gardening, and storytelling, I wanted to build a space where Oklahomans can share knowledge and connect with the rhythms of nature. My goal is to make Okie Almanac a place that’s both educational and entertaining—like having a well-informed neighbor share their best tips with you over coffee.
