Andretti Indoor Karting in Oklahoma City: The Birthday Stop Built for Racing and Games

We visited Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Oklahoma City for Daniel's birthday. Here's the story behind the Andretti entertainment brand and what you'll find beyond the track.

Caila's brother Daniel had a birthday, and we went to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Oklahoma City to celebrate. The name over the door promises racing, but the first thing I noticed was how much else was going on. We passed the bar, a whole spread of arcade machines, a bowling area, dining space, and the entrance to the karting course. It is the sort of birthday outing where people can split off, try something different, and still end up together at the end.

The Andretti name is familiar if you follow auto racing. The story of this particular entertainment business, though, is more specific than simply putting a racing name on a go-kart track.

How the Andretti entertainment business began

According to Andretti's own history, Eddie Hamann met race-car driver John Andretti during the 1996 Daytona 500. They shared an idea for a motorsports-themed family entertainment destination. The first version was an outdoor park in Melbourne, Florida, which opened in 1999 with go-karts and other attractions.

The bar is one of several stops inside the venue.

The concept moved indoors in 2001, when Hamann and John Andretti opened the first corporate Andretti Indoor Karting & Games in Roswell, Georgia. An indoor venue could operate year-round, regardless of the weather, and offer food, events and games alongside the racing. That mix is still the point of the Oklahoma City location: go-karts are the headline, but there are several ways to spend an evening here.

Electric karting comes to Oklahoma City

The company says high-performance electric karts became part of its newer format with its Marietta, Georgia, location in 2015. The Oklahoma City location opened in July 2025 during a later expansion. Its current OKC page advertises four kart tracks and electric racing, including options for younger drivers. The karting entrance in our photos has a race car mounted high on the wall, a podium below it, and a lot of green-lit anticipation before you even get to a kart.

I would not call it Oklahoma's biggest karting venue without a reliable comparison to every other one in the state. It certainly feels substantial in person, and the tracks are only part of the space. Check Andretti's current offers and pricing before you go; attractions, age and height requirements, and race availability can vary.

The arcade can become its own birthday party

Our pictures show that the arcade is not just a couple of machines by the front desk. There are cabinets, prize games, and other brightly lit distractions across a big floor. Andretti's OKC location page lists more than 150 arcade games. We stopped to look at the giant games, a pirate-themed setup, and the Hyperdeck area as we made our way through the building.

This is where a group visit makes sense. If one person is ready to race and another wants to keep playing, neither has to spend the entire outing waiting around. It also gave Daniel's birthday more than one gear: the group could wander, play, eat and then head toward the track.

Bowling, 7D, and somewhere to sit down

The pictures also catch the 7D Xperience entrance, bowling lanes, a dining counter and the large seating area. Andretti lists laser tag, VR, racing simulators, bowling and a kitchen among its other attractions. We saw enough of the place to understand why it is pitched as an all-in-one entertainment stop rather than only a go-kart track.

That matters for a birthday party. There is room to make an evening of it, even if the group has different ages or different ideas of fun. The bar and dining area also mean you can take a break from all the lights and noise without leaving the building.

Planning a visit

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is at 8300 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73114. The official location page is the best place to check current pricing, hours and attraction rules. I would check it before showing up with a group, especially for a birthday or weekend visit.

For us, it started as Daniel's birthday and turned into a look around a place with a lot more than karts. We came for the occasion; the racing history, arcade floor and all the other little detours gave us plenty to explore.
