The spinach artichoke dip at Hopscotch Kitchen & Bar did not survive long at our table. That is usually a good sign, especially when everyone is trying to act polite for the first few bites and then quietly gives up.
Hopscotch sits at 10909 N May Ave in north Oklahoma City, up in that North May and Quail Creek stretch where dinner plans can easily turn into “let’s stay a little longer.” That is really the thing here. It is a restaurant, yes, but it feels built for people who want more than a plate dropped in front of them and a check five minutes later.
Inside, there are pool tables, dart boards, a big full-service bar, and enough seating that the place feels active without feeling chaotic. Outside, the patio gives it another gear, with outdoor games, hopscotch painted on the pavement, and a fire pit that makes a lot more sense once Oklahoma stops pretending it is a convection oven.

Hopscotch is connected to the same hospitality group behind Paseo Grill and The Goat, which explains some of the polish. The food is casual, but it does not feel careless. The menu leans into scratch-made comfort food, craft cocktails, local and craft beer, weekend brunch, and late-night bar food.

What We Ordered
I went with the Good Burger and fries, partly because a place like this needs to be judged on its burger. It came through as a solid, straightforward burger with fresh toppings and fries that had the right crispness to them. Nothing fussy. Just the kind of burger that works when you wanted dinner but also might end up playing pool afterward.
My mom ordered the Reuben with a cup of tomato bisque. The sandwich was stacked high with corned beef, and the tomato bisque brought the right creamy, rich balance to it. That pairing made sense immediately.

Luke ordered the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy, which is hard to argue with if comfort food is the assignment. It was the kind of plate that does not need a lot of explanation.
The table favorite, though, may have been the spinach artichoke dip and chips. Creamy, cheesy, gone faster than expected. I always respect an appetizer that turns a table quiet for a minute.

The Hangout Part Matters
What stood out most was that Hopscotch does not feel like it is trying to move you along.
You can eat, order another drink, play a game of pool, throw darts, or head outside by the fire pit. They also host regular events like Music Bingo and trivia, plus happy hour specials during the week. Pool and darts are listed as 21+, so keep that in mind if you are planning around kids or a mixed-age group.
That mix is what makes Hopscotch feel different from a standard dinner stop. It is especially useful for north OKC folks who want one place where the meal and the after-dinner plan are already in the same building.
There is also a practical note worth knowing before you go: Hopscotch lists itself as card-only, with major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and a reverse ATM available for cash-paying guests.
Oklahoma City has plenty of places to get a burger or a drink. Hopscotch works because it gives you a reason to stay after both show up.
